Each aspect of the Leadership Academy is designed to build upon the previous one. We expect that you will be in attendance for the entire Academy to derive the full benefit of this learning experience.
The registration fee is $500.00 per person. This fee includes all materials; daily breakfast, lunch and breaks; and closing graduation banquet onThursday, October 18th.
Payment of registration fee is due on Friday June 22, 2018. Payment can be made by check, money order, purchase order, or credit card (MasterCard and Visa). Please make your check or money order payable to Georgetown University (Federal Tax ID# 53-019-6603) and mail to Krystle Canare, Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development, Box 571485, Washington, DC 20057-1485. Once you are accepted, cancellations must be submitted in writing (by email, mail, or fax) by September 15, 2018 in order to qualify for a refund. An administrative fee of $95.00 plus the cost of the Leadership Practices Inventory (if started, approximately $250) will be applied to all refunds. Persons cancelling after September 15, 2018 and no-shows are responsible for the entire registration fee and are not eligible for refunds.
Since this Academy is based on an application and selection process, no substitutions will be accepted if a selected participant must cancel.
The Leadership Academy will be held at Hotel Santa Fe, a non-smoking facility and the only Native American owned hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Santa Fe is located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and enjoys more than 280 days of sunshine a year and four distinct seasons. Hotel Santa Fe is located in the city’s world renowned historic district, and offers a unique cultural experience. Hotel Santa Fe is on the rim of downtown Santa Fe, occupies three acres adorned by American Indian sculpture, totems, and wildflowers.
Hotel Santa Fe Hacienda and Spa became the first hotel in the United States to power all of its guest rooms with solar energy using proprietary smart grid technology. In its ongoing commitment to green initiatives the hotel’s “Running on Sunshine” program costs its guests nothing, yet addressed their concerns about environmental responsibility.
Participants are responsible for all travel expenses such as hotel accommodations (room, tax, and incidentals), airfare, ground transportation, parking, and 2 dinners not provided during the Academy.
A small block of rooms has been reserved at Hotel Santa Fe at the rate of $119/night plus 15.313% totaling $137.22 per night per person. Contact Hotel Santa Fe on or before the September 15, 2018 deadline to make your reservations. Make sure to reference the Georgetown Diversity Leadership Academy when booking your room.

Hotel Santa Fe has guaranteed room rates at $137.22 (tax included) three days after the Leadership Academy. If you wish, you may take advantage of these rates by simply indicating your arrival and departure dates on your reservation.
Reservations must be accompanied by one night’s room deposit by check, money order or credit card.

ADA requests such as a roll-in shower or the specific request of double or king rooms are available. Hotel Santa Fe has 4 ADA rooms - 2 double rooms and 2 king rooms. All of the hotel's roll-in shower rooms are in our room block. Dress during the Leadership Academy is casual and comfortable!
The Leadership Academy will provide breakfast, lunch, and breaks. There will be an opening dinner reception and closing graduation banquet. Once you have been accepted, you will be contacted to provide information about any dietary restrictions or allergies.
Participants and/or their sponsoring organizations/programs will be responsible for their travel expenses such as airfare and ground transportation (i.e., shuttle, bus, taxi/cab, rental car, parking, etc.).
Albuquerque International Sunport is a full service facility located 65 miles from Santa Fe. Albuquerque International Sunport is served by major commercial carriers. Shuttle service and car rentals are available for transit to Santa Fe.
The Santa Fe Airport is located just eight miles from Hotel Santa Fe. United Express from Denver and American Eagle from Dallas/Ft. Worth and Los Angeles fly directly into the Santa Fe Airport daily.
From Albuquerque International Sunport Airport
Sandia Shuttle Express
You will need to make reservations to guarantee your seat on the shuttle. Walk-on passengers are welcome, if space is available, with the exception of the 11:45 pm shuttle which is available by reservation only. Estimated driving time between Albuquerque and Santa Fe is 60 minutes.
Shuttle fees: $33.00 ($34.69 with tax) each way per person.
Sandia Shuttle Express accepts cash and Traveler's Checks upon boarding or you may charge your ticket to VISA or MasterCard when you make your reservation in advance by calling (888) 775-5696, or from Santa Fe 505-474-5696, or via their website https://www.sandiashuttle.com. To request a wheelchair accessible shuttle for your pick up please contact by phone at (888) 775-5696. It is highly recommended that reservations for the wheelchair accessible shuttle are made well in advance of your arrival date.
The Sandia Shuttle Express check-in counter is located inside the airport on the Baggage Claim. The check-in counter is staffed by a customer service representative between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm seven days a week. Beyond these hours, the shuttle drivers staff the check-in counter approximately 30 minutes before each departure. The shuttle services will deliver you from the airport to the front entrance of Hotel Santa Fe.
From Santa Fe Municipal Airport (SAF)
Road Runner Shuttle & Charter Service
The Road Runner Shuttle and Charter Service provides services to and from all flights via both shuttle and private rider service TO / FROM the Santa Fe Municipal Airport (SAF) and the rates are $16.00 8AM - 6PM, $21.00 6PM - 11PM and 6AM - 8AM - $26.00 11PM - 6AM at SAF.
Rental car agencies are also available, including Hertz and Avis.
There are no taxis or limo companies with locations at the airport.

From Interstate 25
Interstate 25 serves Santa Fe from Albuquerque and Denver. Take Exit 282 onto St. Francis Drive and follow St. Francis for 3.2 miles to Paseo de Peralta. Turn right onto Paseo de Peralta and drive across Guadalupe Street. The double-archway entrance to Hotel Santa Fe is easily visible on the left, at the corner of Cerrillos Road.
Santa Fe is nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. In Santa Fe, the month of October is characterized by rapidly rising daily high temperatures, with daily highs from 57°F to 70°F Temperatures rarely exceed 78°F or drop below 46°F. Please bring a sweater or jacket for the evenings and to ensure your comfort as the meeting rooms can be a little chilly.
Please be aware that Santa Fe is located seven thousand feet above sea level. Some people experience dizziness, headache, or nausea due to the altitude. To help prevent these symptoms, drink plenty of water before and after arriving in Santa Fe and refrain from strenuous exercises/activities and from alcoholic beverages during your first 24 hours in Santa Fe.
