Reports of the 2024 Regional Service Provider Forums

The NCCC convened twelve (12) Virtual Regional Service Provider Forums as part of the OPWDD-Georgetown University NCCC Partnership for Systems Change project. With the full endorsement of OPWDD, the forums were held across the five geographic areas comprising OPWDD’s Regional Offices. The purpose of the 2024 Regional Service Provider Forums was to:

Define cultural competence, linguistic competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion;
Gauge the extent to which each is implemented among New York’s network of IDD service providers; and
Elicit input on the successes and challenges of implementing policies and practices that support cultural competence, linguistic competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion within service provider organizations.

The data collected was analyzed and compiled into a report, including observations and recommendations for cultural and linguistic competence.

The full report, its executive summary, and a clear language version of the executive summary are publicly available. The clear language version of the executive summary is translated into the top 12 languages spoken in New York State.
